canuckamuck
Obviously no one will be found negligent, unless they can pin in on a foreigner or a low level employee.

Lee4Life
A lightweight concrete panel ??? what is you question... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autoclaved_aerated_concrete I would have to believe that the question would be: How could a "lightweight" concrete panel 2 m by 2 m kill one person and injure three? The article doesn't mention the height it fell from though.
Confuscious
Obviously no one will be found negligent, unless they can pin in on a foreigner or a low level employee. Find the damned Burmese who made the concrete panel and give the the death penalty. By the way, why was the person who died wearing a bikini? Don't she read newspapers about the danger of wearing bikini's? TIC RIP to de deceased and seppdy recovery to the injured people. Ulic
I guess lightweight is relative when it comes to concrete panels. RIP and a speedy and full recovery to the two survivors. One can only hope that those responsible are held accountable.
duckmandon
Not as heavy as some! 2mts x 2mts probably 100mm thick would weigh at least 1 tonne. Very sad but it does happen all over the world. Edited December 11, 2014 by duckmandon

rickirs
A 500#-600# concrete panel dropping from the ceiling may be lightweight to an architect but not to anyone standing underneath it.
Anthony5
This is the second serious accident in as many days for Central group, both because of construction errors in recent completed stores. When Central Festival Pattaya was constructed there was a whole topic here about the reinforcements they had to make to the columns shortly after the building was completed, of course the Thaier than Thai members all laughed it away as conspiracy theories. I have such a feeling that Central is one big greedy business that cuts corners just to earn that very last Satang, and that we may hear more from this company in the not so distant future.
