None Imm O – apply abroad, staying permanently in Thailand

Featured Replies

I'm staying here in Thailand already 7 years on retirement Visas. My current Visa expires Jan 16.

This time I don't have the required 800K Bath on my Thai Bank account but fresh money is coming in from Germany in the beginning of January.

Since the money won't stay here 3 month already, they will refuse to give me a one year extension. That’s what I was told at my Immigration site in Nan.

They advised to go to a Thai Embassy abroad (Laos, Vientiane) to get a new Non-Imm O which they extend later on (after money is here for two month).

Isn't there a simpler task to do that?

Preferably within the country.

I'm afraid to leave the country, not getting the 90 days Non-Imm O for whatever reason and ending up with a simple 14 days tourist Visa.

I just can't get clear information on the requirements to obtain that 90 day Visa in Lao. (It was so simple back in Germany)

At their web site: vientiane.thaiembassy.org (which is occupied by some ugly Porn like advertising BTW) I find requirements like this:

"Official letter from the Bank in Thailand certifying a valid account of at least 800,000 Baht, and is being held

not less than 3 months"

In that case I would turn in circles ...

Sorry for this rather long post.

A good advice would be much appreciated!

Do you have any income?

If you have a small income you can make use of the possibility to combine your yearly income with the money you have in the bank in Thailand. Togther they must at least be 800,000 baht. In case of a combination, there is no need to season the money.

I don't think that is the official webiste you found. In Vientianne they will issue you a single non-O without much problems.

Info on Vientiane website is for a Lao citizen to get a OA visa.

All you need is your passport and a bank book showing the 800k baht in the bank. It does not have to be there for 3 months.

No income. I lived on savings, next few years from a live insurance (due Date Jan 1.) and after that I get a pension.

I'm pretty sure this is the official website:

http://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/vientiane/en/consular/consular_check/

You can open this page – no infection of the PC or something.

But this stupid advertising at the bottom right site.

I don't see any advertising on that webpage.

That's strange.
I get them – and ONLY there. All other webpages I opened look clean.
Have to check on my site then …
