PATTAYA: -- The Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism presided over a Marine Rescue Demonstration which took place at the Bali Hai Port on Wednesday.

The demonstration takes place every year and is designed to instill confidence in Marine Safety in Pattaya as the city approaches its busiest time of the year.

Two demonstrations, using Pattaya Sea Rescue Units, the Marine Police and the Royal Thai Navy, simulated accidents with Fishing Boats and a Boat full of tourists which collided with a speedboat causing all the tourists to fall into the water.

Wonder where the helicopter is based and how long to scramble and get to any incident between Pattaya and koh Larn?

Why do we need demonstrations when there seems to be a real incidents every other week?

And the way many are handled gives me no confidence. sad.png

Or more to the point are very preventable.
