I can't remember the price but do recall thinking that they're not cheap enough considering their limitations. Also used Chromebooks are a dime a dozen on ebay so I would be loathed to pay any real money for one. If you just want to play around with the OS, you can install and run Chrome OS on either a virtual machine or boot it from a USB drive on a regular PC or Notebook. You could do either of those for free without leaving the house.
