New Dentist Needed !

For a number of years I have been very happy with Dentalland, just off Nimmanhemin. I only need a "scrape and polish" every few months.

Upto two visits ago the charge was 1000 baht. Last time I went about four months ago it went up 10% to 1100. Went again today, and now its gone up to 1200, so thats a 20% increase in six months !! No idea if they have double pricing there as they do at many dentists in CM, but a 20% increase in such a short time is just taking the mickey at our expense.

Am now looking for recommendations of good, professional, clean, efficient dentist who DONT take their customers as mugs !! If replies can give an idea from recent visit how much is charged for "scrape and polish" routine that would be good.

Before anyone suggests it, I am not in any way a "cheap charlie", I just dont like being taken for a mug and thus change of dentist is a requirement now on a point of principle!

I like Grace, I had a terrible experience at dental land. Grace is pretty expensive but has been the best to me so far, much better than elite smile imho.

Been going a lot to elite the last two years. I am always satisfied with the work they do, the charges and the genuine friendliness. I pay 600 baht for cleaning every 3 months. The every three months is MY decision not salemanship from them.

I too am satisfied and like their friendliness.

Dr. Benjaporn at Elite recommends every four months and indeed her charge is 600 Baht.....1,200 baht for cleaning, scaling and polishing 3 times a year is a steal.

just curious why some are charged 600, others 800, and even others 1000 for cleaning at Elite? i was going to go tomorrow and make an appointment. how much should i expect to pay to see Dr. Benjaporn? are there levels of cleaning available or different charges for different dentists?

It probably depends on the condition or your teeth and gums, if it's just a regular clean and scrape or if deep cleaning is involved.

It would be a good question to ask her when you go and let us know the right answer. thumbsup.gif

I'm one of those who was charged 1000 baht and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I won't be using them again for a clean.

Usually go to one in Santitham which last time increased from 500 to 600 although I think that was the first price increase in about two years or more so fine.

This week went to CM Ram as the dentist recommended going there as my treatment was complicated. Have to say they did a good job and not painful which did concern me as I needed a lot if treatment. Probably wouldn't go for a check up and clean there so I can't comment on that cost but perhaps others can.

Yes and as I recall you said you were worked on by a tall skinny guy with glasses.

It wasn't Dr. Benjaporn and I've never seen anyone there that resembles your guy, that's not to say there isn't one.

I am somewhat distrustful of dentists, mostly the ones in USA - I bounced around to a few in CM - all ok

BUT - I really really like the dentist at Payon Clinic, just outside Thapae Gate… younger fellow, maybe 35? or so - I think a cleaning is 600 baht and he apologized to me when it went up in price from 500 - - he did a great job of rebuilding a tooth for me, saved me getting a crown too.. 1500 baht...

but price is not important to me - nice guy and does good quality work and honest - I have been using him abt 3-4 years now…

she told me 6 months would be fine with mine. I do keep them clean but it still needs the cleaning. I highly recommend them.

After 10 years with Grace I am finally moving to Grand Dent on Mandihol Road near Airport Plaza.

I have to have two implants, Grace quoted me 225,000 for all the work. I went to see the dentist there, who also teaches at CMU, an Associate Professor, and he has quoted me 155,000 for exactly the same work.

I am sorry to be leaving Dr.Korokot after all these years, but the price of a 15 minute clean is now 1,400 baht, so everything there is getting pricier all the time.

I have an appointment with Grace tomorrow, looking at their fees on their website, they're pretty much on par with my UK dentist, who is really awesome. So they better be good. And the Grace website prices are from 2014 and are subject to going up it seems.

The dentist I use here charges prices close to NHS prices, but "private" quality.

Err. This is Thailand not the UK. Nothing here should cost as much as the UK.

The cleaning I had done at Grace recently took 45 minutes, that was including an injection for swollen gums so the dentist could get access... yes, I left it too long between visits. However, all in it was 1400 baht. I'm very happy with Grace.
