Next step from 90 extension to retirement visa

Featured Replies

Got the 90 no problem at CW. Next want to get the retirement visa. Question is my 90 day expires on Feb 16 do I need to go in with minimum 15 days left on the visa as previously done.

I've got the blue receipt from 90 day visa dated 19/11/14 the stamp on the receipt says

RESULT

-3 DEC 2014

I don't remember but I think the immigration officer said come in then. And is it the TM 7 I'm filling out with income affidavit from US Embassy. Anything else I'll need, copies of bank statements etc.

Thanks in advance.

I assume you went back on the 3rd of December and got your visa and 90 day entry stamps (it is not an extension).

You can apply for your one year extension of stay at any time now up to the 16th of February.

You will need a completed TM7 application form with a 4cm X 6cm photo attached.

Copies of your passport photo page, visa, entry/permit to stay stamp and TM6 departure card.

The original of your income affidavit.

Thanks Joe, knew you would be on the case. No I was miss informed by a friend that I could go in anytime after that. Is this a problem now? what should I do.

You need to go back to immigration to see if they still have the approved visa application.

You may be on an overstay now if your permit to stay you got on entry has ended.

OK will do. I'm stamped in until Feb 16. Will check with you as the default in the future. Thanks.

Ubon Joe has it all taped, but I'd go in with time to spare as there may always be a hiccup.

Went in and got the one year retirement visa at Samut Prakan no problem. Quick easy, the officer did ask to keep a copy of my condo lease. Piece of cake...
