Which passport page copies required for retirement extension

Featured Replies

Hello

For changing from extension based on working to extension based on retirement, are all pages required to be copied, or just those with the most recent stamps?

Also how many copies.....

Thank you.

You will only need one set of copies.

Copies of the visa you used to get the entry that you have been extending, entry stamp for that entry and most recent extension of stay stamp is all the passport copies you should need. But some immigration offices may want more.

In Chaeng wattana (Bangkok) there is a copy service on the first floor, 2 Baht per copy. The girls that work there do copy of required passport pages for a living. Just walk in there, hand them your passpodt. and say "retirement".

In less than 5 minutes it is done, and they are usually always right.

Normally 5 pages and costs 10 Baht.

  • Passport Cover page
  • I.D Photo page
  • Original Visa
  • Last extension stamp
  • Last Departue /Arrival card with entry stamp.

When I renew my retirement visa (no changes) I usually take 2 copies of every page and another set just in case but that is just me.

I always hope for the best and plan for the worst. If I have got it with me it is easier than going to get more and perhaps waiting 2 or 3 hours more or coming back another day.

AND the most important now has changed to your address registration. You know that one your landlord is suppose to do informing immigration they have a falang living in their place. They have now made it a falangs responsibility. You need a copy of that also.

I offered that at my last renewal in Nakhon Sawan and they didn't seem to be interested and at the 90 report they don't want to know. Immigration offices seem to differ around the country.

Yes they are all different. My last retirement visa they didn't care about address and its a semi new thing. Be prepared on your next one, they will ask for it.

It is in the folder ready to go once again in July.

Nakhon Sawan are farang friendly and the front office staff are all women. A much nicer environment.

Actually I went to Phuket and was pleasantly surprised. I had to see 2 different people and both were as friendly as can be. Just busy as hell. Its all about YOUR attitude that makes it a good or bad experience.
