The 40.000 bath requirement for marriage extension of stay

Featured Replies

gdaya folks,

i have got a query about the marriage extension of stay :

it is believed to provide a monthly income 40.000 thb or 400.000 thb three month in a thai bank account prior to be filing the paperwork

with the immigration for renewal. hence is it also permissible to submit a combination out of income @ bank deposit to account for the

400.000 thb ??? if yes where do i find a legally written reference??

about the bank account if i would deposit 400.000 k in a fixed term deposit 15 months accessible at any time, does immi accept that ??

thanking you in advance for your thoughts, so mote it be

No combinations are allowed when it comes to marriage extensions.. only based on retirement..

It is 400k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months in an account in your name only or 40k baht income. There is no combination of the 2 allowed.

The 400k baht can be in a standard fixed term account as long as there is no delay in withdrawing the funds and no penalty other than loss of interest.

up 400.000 k is permissible, im confused now ?????

thank you for your advice about the fixed account.

That website is wrong. You will find a lot misleading and incorrect info on it,

From clause 2.18 of Police Order 327/2557 basis for extension of stay.

"(6) In the case of marriage to a Thai woman, the alien husband must earn an average annual income of no less than Baht 40,000 per month or must have no less than Baht 400,000 in a bank account in Thailand for the past two months to cover expenses for one year."
