NextStationBangkok
68 year old man as public bus driver is too much for his life. Thailand should not take advantage on Old people's life. They should limit public driver's age up to 60. Some times i see old gentlemen driving Taxi, i appreciate their efforts, hardly they can read any small letters. and They cannot see properly in the evenings. We have to worry something about it, and they should be taken care at home by their children, not sending them to work like this, other they can find some other job that can is easy of them to manage.

In most western countries you can drive a bus so long as you pass the medical exam If they stopped everyone at 60 years a large proportion of bus drivers couldn't get work. Thailand just needs to enforce regulations that limit driver hours per day and per week, compulsory breaks both during driving hours and between working periods, regular health checks and maintenance of bus and remove old unroadworthy buses
Popular Post IMA_FARANG
Bus drivers are poor and that's why they have to drive many hours, double shifts, and take stimulants to keep themselves awake. Bous OWNERS are well off, they pay their drivers as little as they can, make thier drivers do extra hours and long shifts. That's why theyare realatively well off. That's why bus drivers may die from the stress of their job. Bus OWNERS don't. Those reasons are why thai politicians pay attention to bus owners, not bus drivers.

This is only workable in countries where they have a good pension scheme ( Not Australia's) in H.K. they are 80 years and still out cleaning streets at 5am in the morning and doing rubbish collections , meanwhile over the other side of town the chauffeur is shinning up the Bentley's tyres.
Popular Post hanno
Some of the comments are just absolutely useless. Some hard-working guy that should be enjoying the fruits of his life-long labor dies of a heart attack and some posters have nothing better to do than make stupid comments. I am no Buddhist but I sure hope what goes around, comes around.

The manic
Same as my uncle who died peacefully in his sleep unlike his passengers who were screaming in fear at the time.

Indeed 80 years proud to be healthy and have a job. Atleast he is adding a value to society to clean his country. But my concern is what age is safe for him to drive a public bus ? A small mistake can cost 50 lives at least on a busy road. Think this 68 old man dropped dead on Chonburi motorway with 10 vehicles following behind ? I think the companies setting such a price for the work, he probably almost cannot break his bus.
