What is a good salary for......

Featured Replies

What is a good salary for:

- unskilled labourers (people who pack boxes, move things around, etc)?

- Semi Skilled Labourers (Machine Operators,Drivers, etc)?

- Skilled Labour (Accountant, Technician, etc)?

- Professional Labour (Engineer, MBA, etc )?

And also what is the average bump in salary for 0 years experience, 1-3 years experience, 3-5 Years Experience, and 5+ Years experience in a specific field?

Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The different foreign chambers of commerce conduct surveys about that, about yearly. It is not an easy task to get reliable figures, especially since you need so many different ones.

Many of those positions you probably know A farang can't do them.Thai's only. It's The law in Thailand. If your caught doing them you can be kicked out of the country

I only ask because I want to know how much I should pay employees based on their credentials.

I would look at some of the job sites, like jobsdb.com etc, and see what the other companies are offering. You would at least get an idea, and what you need to compete with.

Where are you based might be a good start.

In Bkk,

unskilled labourers (people who pack boxes, move things around, etc)? 9-10k baht per month

- Semi Skilled Labourers (Machine Operators,Drivers, etc)? 10-12 per month, be aware I see jobs advertising for drivers at 15 k per month.

I assume English isnt your first language, I would not consider machine operators in the same league as drivers.

Skilled Labour (Accountant, Technician, etc)?

An accountant isnt classified as skilled labour, anyway for accountant it can be up to 25k per month.

Technican of what?

Professional Labour (Engineer, MBA, etc )?

North of 50k per month, can be over 100k per month and more depending on language skills etc.

My BIL earns more than 100k per month, speaks English and is often in Burma, Singapore etc overseeing multi million $$$ construction projects
