Guarantor scheme, how enforceable is it?

GF works in gov office. Seems like everyone in the office has borrowed money from gov or commercial bank. They all seem to act as guarantor for each other.

Anyway one of the girls seems to have skipped the country and left a few girls responsible for her debt. No one has any assets to speak of so I am wondering aggressive will the banks be at trying to reclaim the money.

Really aggressive,

Guarantor pays or has property, vehicle or bank account to that value seized.

Guarantor doesn't have enough, ownership of listed items and future loans prohibited for 5-10 years.

NEVER, ever allow a gf/wife to be guarantor for a friend, the sh_it really hits the fan.

Usually when this happens, the Thai guarantor starts shifting any assets to a family member.

It is serious stuff. My ex gf also worked in a government office and every single person there was borrowing money from the government using this method. One girl in the office did a runner and the people who signed had to pay. These government office workers always seem to be getting in to bizarre money schemes
