nong38
I am thinking of taking the lady back to the UK for a holiday and touring the country, she will need to get travel insurance to cover her for the UK but where do I look in Thailand for Travel Insurance? Asked at the bank and they do not do it, is it a case of trying each of the Insurance companies or well where is best? Two month trip is looking likely, and advice would be good, thanks. Xircal
I looked at the FCO.UK site for info which you'll find here: https://www.gov.uk/general-visit-visa But under the heading, 3. "Documents you must provide", there's no mention of an insurance requirement. This would seem to differ from the rules pertaining to a Schengen visa: http://www.vfsglobal.com/austria/uk/schengenvisa_docreq.html Probably your best bet would be to either phone, or email the Embassy in Bangkok and clarify the position with them: https://www.gov.uk/government/world/organisations/british-embassy-bangkok/office/british-embassy-bangkok

I know for Thai visiting Schengen countries travel insurance is required in order to obtain visa (reason the health cover). Could be the same for UK, so that would be a good reason. colinneil
Pattaya Phom!! Where do you get the idea every thing is free in the UK? You are wrong Thai nationals have to pay for treatment in hospitals/doctors surgery.
