Leading Bioresource Research Center launched in Thailand

PATHUM THANI, 23 February 2015 (NNT) – The Thailand Bioresource Research Center has been launched to support scientific researches and Bioresource development at the international level.


The National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC) of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) held the opening ceremony of the Thailand Bioresource Research Center (TBRC) on 20 February 2015. The research center is situated at the Thailand Science Park in Pathum Thani province.

The TBRC has been established as an international level bioresource research center as a scientific research and the biotechnology development center for the industry sector.

The center provides efficient storage and database services for the modern bioresource management that complies with the regulations and related laws.

BIOTEC has been established since 1983 under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Ministry of Science and Technology. Its main objectives is to support the research, development, engineering, human resources development, technology transferring, and the development of the infrastructure on biotechnology. The study of microorganism in Thailand had begun since the 1960s.

Is there any ebola here. Well there is lots and lots of dengue fever which can be fatal. So you Thai scientists cure what you already have

A few months ago they were proposing alternative medicine for school kids. I forget exactly. So this news is definitely a step in the right direction. Actual science apparently.
