The feds can theoretically still come after you. State law doesn't trump federal law, and it's still illegal federally to use, possess or sell it. (And the Supreme Court has upheld the right, more than once, of the federal government to regulate and criminalize it.) However, the feds announced - DEA, some other agency,,, not sure - that they'd no longer pursue these offenses in states where it had been legalized, except in certain circumstances (e.g., offenses where firearms, gangs, cartels, or distro to other states involved), as of Aug 2013.

But then there's the "civil forfeiture" thing...

This means President O. can go back to his old ways. He can slip out for a legal doob in the Rose Garden.

If the paparazzi catches him and asks what he's smoking, he'll say "it's called lame duck, mother_____!"

""When they start depending on smoking marijuana, I don't know how far they'd go to get the funds they need to support it, to support themselves," said Edward Nick, council member in Manokotak, a remote village of 400 that is predominantly Yup'ik Eskimo."

Just shows the old timer's distorted view on the herb. Nobody gets dependent on it, and that's probably one of the major reasons it's getting decriminalised all around the world.

Distorted and obviously not educated on the subject. Now they (all the potheads) can grow it with out fear of jail. Need not commit crimes to fund their choice. (Absolutely not saying that's what they do, but this guy probably believes that) Edited by natas
