Hardly....grow a few banana tress apparently there fast growers.

i got sm trees if u want sm bananas, im in the sticks in issan though.

Grow like weeds on the side of the roads here.

Where do you live and shop?

In westernized tourist Thailand and shopping at the supermarket?

I can buy a nice bunch of bananas for 5 baht.

But my neighbors usually give me more than I can eat for free.

When my own trees are not producing.

I'm guessing you need to get out and into the real Thailand.... and make some friends.

i have four trees in my garden , once they have flowered, or the bananas have grown , I take down the Bananas and chop the tree down , I give the trunk to the local man who has pigs, Pigs like them. the trunk can be cut with a big sharp knife because they very soft, they grow very quickly,

Actually, some of the bananas in Thailand are so good it's mental. Well worth every satang.

Prices are up due to dry weather, banana plants (not trees) need lots of water, there are many diseases that attack plantations and that is an issue for the monocroppers, small patches and backyard growers are less vulnerable.
