Seeking stability, Thai charter drafters could achieve parliamentary dictatorship

Good news!! As long as the right people are installed then Thailand should make progress. It weakens the 'bozo effect' of the voters that are easily bribed through their inability to understand politics and of whom keep on voting crooks in, only for them then to savagely abuse the system for their own purpose.

Anything that prevents this has to be good for the country (democracy is not that important as they, the people, cannot be trusted) - good and honest governance for the people IS!!

said like a true anti-democrat...

now run off and give Suthep a hug.... whistling.gif

I am not anti-democrat as you imply.

I just don't think that Thai's are responsible/educated enough to be given it and that is not good for the country.

I would like to give Suthep a hug BTW as he deserves it for his services to the people - top man!!!

I am not anti-democrat as you imply.

do you read your own posts?

well, first, democracy is never given... it is something the people take for themselves. I would challenge you to find one example where the people were "given" democracy....

second, the Thai people who are not responsible are the Thai elite. They block every attempt to establish a democratic country. Yes, there are some who try to hijack a democratic system for their own gains, but that happens in every democracy that I know of. The problem in Thailand is the elite in this country want to keep the century long status quo which allows all of the spoils and riches of the country to flow to them. And the power associated with it.

It has nothing to do with the level of education or responsibility of the Thai population at large - and it never has been the case in any other democratic country. That is simply another yellow-elite talking point. Like vote-buying, paid-to-protest for democracy, etc... These elites can not figure out how to live in a democratic country where their votes are not proportional to their wealth or their own perceived "value" and importance to society. That is the real problem. I don't use the term often, but that group of elites in Thailand are really scumbags.

I think Davis Cameron should stay in power. No need for the next election. We risk all this mess with the Labor party. Keeping David at power is much better for the UK people.
