Hi All

Ive been in Thailand for nearly 2 years on a B Visa with a work permit, Sadly at the begining of January my ex wife died leaving my 6 and 11 year old Sons in the UK, i of course have come back to make arrangements and bring my Sons back to live with me in Thailand.

I recently asked at my local immigration office what visa's should i apply for, for my Sons? I was told swiftly by an immigration officer easy go to Thai Embassy in London and apply for your Sons to have an O Visa each that will be linked to your B Visa, can anyone confirm that this is correct and if not what is the correct visa for them to have?

thanks

If you are on an extension of stay from immigration you can get dependent extensions for your children.

You will need to get single entry non-o visas for them at the embassy in London. You will need their birth certificates and a copy of you passport photo page and extension of stay stamp.

Then during the last 30 days of the 90 day entry the visa will allow they can get extensions they will be valid up to date your extension ends.

Ubonjoe, many thanks for your help and advice, my latest extension of stay expires in June 2015, I assume my lawyer will then apply for another but does that mean i will need to return to London for my Sons to apply again or can all this be done from Thailand?

Cheers

You should apply for a non-O visa for your children, if they haven't got one already. They can get extensions of stay based on your permission to stay. So at first they will get extensions till june 2015.

You can then apply for a new extensions of stay for your children when you apply for the extension of stay for yourself.

No need to return to the UK. They will have extensions of stay like you have not a visa.

Their first extension will valid up to the date your extension ends. Then when you get your new extension you will apply for a new one for them that will be valid for a year.
