Woman linked to deaths of Japanese lovers pleads not guilty

BANGKOK: -- A couple accused of murdering an elderly Japanese school teacher and dumping his remains in a canal southeast of Bangkok entered their pleas in court yesterday.

While Pornchanok Chaiyapa pleaded innocent to the premeditated murder of Yoshinori Shimato in October, her boyfriend Somchai Kaebangyang admitted to accidental homicide.

Will they change their pleas if the death penalty is put on the table ?

That seems to be the usual situation.

Yes it's really likely that she will change her plea from the current not guilty to guilty if there's a threat of her getting the death penalty. Why wouldn't any sane person do that?

More than one black widow. In Thailand! Be aware. Nobody will investigate. And the uk. Not interested. In unexplained deaths.

I'm sure the UK would be sad to hear of any murder. But the murder of Japanese nationals in Thailand is hardly a matter for them.
