My Opinion Regarding Best Possible Protection Without Condom.....

I should have mentioned that I have the Pro version of Malwarebytes, this actually stops malware entering and shows a window on screen that the "site" you looked at is dodgy........thumbsup.gif

I also have the Pro version of Malwarebytes, but it didn't even see the 555 th, DAO 123, etc.. ( browser hijackers Thailand)facepalm.gif

The Spy Hunter did finally find all and deleted it. My Filipino colleague had the BAIDU AV on, no way to delete it, via Uninstaller, Revo, ...

Baidu even switches the best uninstallers off, within an blink of an eye. Only Spy Hunter could deal with it, guess you know that I'm not making advertisement for this company...blink.png

The Chinese program Baidu will usually be installed when you download free programs, for example on CNet.

There's always an option not to install it, but there's to be a reason why some programs are free. They're free because companies like Baidu pay good money to them.

Trans, does your Window Defender work? You only have to go to start, type Windows Defender and you can enable it, should it be disabled.wai2.gif

Only have Microsoft Security Essentials as backup, know idea if Defender is part of that. Every day I update SuperAntiSpyware and do a quick scan, if I go out for a few hours I do a full one now and again.

Eset Nod32

Noooooooooooooo. I've tried all versions and also their newest flagship. When I found out that it deleted important files from my registry and wanted to delete it, it was similar to Baidu.

Good luck that I have all machines backed up and could restore it with Acronis.

You're warned.

Mate, I deleted Superantispy ( full version) and Malwarebytes pro. Gave it a try, but nooooooooooo.

Please go to start, type Windows defender, then right click and switch it on. In my opinion better than Superdupa.......thumbsup.gif

Just use MSE, once you have your machine running to perfection then create an image/clone of the whole thing on an external drive and you are good to go no matter what happens, Windows 7 - 8 have these powerful backup tools built in, if you have a problem then you can simply restore from the image, my system is raid configured with a couple of drives 2xtb, one of them went down so I replaced the single 1tb drive and restored the whole thing from the image - no 3rd party SW needed, it was exactly as before the failure

it is

problem with a lot of these anti ......programs that people use is that they may actually be viruses or malware

MSE and Defender and an image backup of your whole system using MS OS default backup system on an external drive once a month cannot be beaten - yes you need a spare external drive available costing maybe 2k baht at the most but you not only get a clean install but your system is restored exactly as it was 2-3 weeks ago - well worth it IMO

Im with dharmabm and mr somtam, iptables and rkhunter work for me.

And any staff who install baidu on work machines are instantly fired for gross misconduct.

Why not just save yourself the headache and remove the ability for them to install any software?

(I go a step further and block all internet access for all but a few computers that need it to do their job.)

You're criticizing my posts, but you seem to be a very ignorant and inexperienced guy regarding computer soft- and hardware.

Your step further to "block all internet access", doesn't make you to a better person.

BTW, nobody, and I mean nobody was pleasing you to reply, or comment on this one.

When you read it again, you might find out that I wrote " my opinion." And that's what it is.

I shared my experience with others, because there're some people on this forum who'd helped me.

Did you ever help anybody else, excluding yourself? I doubt it, when reading your post.

Please just ignore my posts in the future, Sir. Thanks a lot for your kindness..wai2.gif

You're the guy who always criticized my opinion, but did you ever come up with something that makes sense?

I must have spent years to be able to deal with ALL sorts of viruses, Trojan horses, Malware, etc..

But you don't have to give me the feeling that my posts are not liked. If even one on this form was trying what I was on about and successful, then the thread already did its thing.

Now you're angry because a very nasty post of yours regarding me was deleted. Grow up, please, get some xxxx and when you post, please post something that makes sense.

If I'd have posted this on the wrong page, I'd apologize. If it's the right page, then why don't you just ignore my posts?

Isn't a forum like this one meant to help each other? To share experience and ideas? Okay, okay, I already know, you've got a different opinion.

I had to learn all i know the most difficult way. Learning from Thai technicians, who don't even know where they click at, because it's in English.

What I'm sharing here is 13 years of multiple headaches when having a problem with a computer, soft-, or hardware.

Is it too much to ask you to leave me alone in the future, please? Your similes don't make you smarter, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for not getting it. wai2.gif

I am a system administrator and security specialist who gets paid fairly well for my expertise, and I help many people with many issues even here which you would know of you researched my post history. You pretend to know what you are talking about, but in fact often lead people into deeper problems (if they are foolish enough to take your advice as fact) and have a tendency to encourage the continued use of pirated software, which is often the root cause of the problems you profess to know all the solutions for. You should stick to your profession (which I suspect is an English teacher) and leave the serious stuff to the big boys who know what they are talking about
