Popular Post ThaiBob
I suggest you visit Rutnin Eye Hospital in Bangkok and get an opinion. This hospital has a reputation as being one of best and we are talking about your eyes and ultimately your vision.
elgordo38
You should be more specific what kind of operation do you need? Cataract? Glaucoma? Are you willing to travel within Thailand? Your second posting sounded confusing to say the least.
Suradit69
i went to BKK-Pattaya Hospital it was outragious what they want, I suggest you visit Rutnin Eye Hospital in Bangkok and get an opinion. This hospital has a reputation as being one of best and we are talking about your eyes and ultimately your vision. Rutnin is definitely the best, but I doubt they will be cheaper than Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. I've used the eye clinic at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya for over more than a year of treatments for macular degeneration, including numerous intraocular injections of a cancer drug. It wasn't cheap, though far less than it would have been in the US and, more importantly, the result was excellent. And, if you need follow-up after the surgery, it could mean additional travel & hotel expense in Bangkok if you are resident in Pattaya. Not sure if I would go bargain hunting for something involving eye surgery. Edited March 26, 2015 by Suradit69
KittenKong
If I wanted anything complex doing then I also would be inclined to find a specialist hospital in Bangkok.
craigt3365
I don't know what they have on offer, but I've had great success working with Gavin at Phyathai in Sriracha. You can even email him your queries and he'll get back promptly.
loppylugs1
Medical mafia of Thailand. Think of a price ,double it, keep choices down, way to go. far better ,far cheaper just a couple of hours away
i claudius
I use the Queen Sirikit hosital in Satahip ,its a navel hospital ,much cheaper ,high standard ,50% extra for falangs ,and you must take a Thai speaker ,although most speak English there ,you will not be seen straight away ,waits are a few hours ,but all doctors are from private hospitals . i have a cataract , and was informed nearly two years ago i must have an immediate operation here in Pattaya at a very high cost ,when i went there ,i was informed ,"its very minor ,no need yet for an operation ,and i go back every 3 months ,i also have slight pressure in both eyes ,the medication they give me is half the price of what it costs here in Pattaya at a leading Chemist ,and a quarter of the price i was originally quoted.
bob4you
Queen Sirikit is best bet for value. I have had cancer surgery (bladder) at Bumragrad B200,000 same operation 5 years later at QS was B20,000.

steve187
HI its a lady doctor Somsiri on hospital 02886600 she works sat, sun 9-4 and mon 1-4.30 english link here - http://translate.google.co.th/translate?hl=en&sl=th&u=http://www.eent.co.th/&prev=search. The hospital don't speak much English, the doctor does, just turn up and ask for her surgery, she is also at Bumrungrad Fridays 5-8. I would think all weekdays she will be at Rama government hospital Bangkok. which is where i first saw her, she then did the op at EENT the following day, no required equipment at Rama. This link doesn't work for me. I am not going to be bothered with hospitals that don't have a proper English website and don't have staff that can communicate in English. Rutnin has excellent speaking staff and their doctors could explain technical medical terms to me. They also provide services to other non English speaking patients using interpreters. The vast majority of their patients are Thai.

Aseansnow
I thank everyone for all your advise and help, I should have given a bit more detail in my orginal post, I will add that 6 months ago i had an operation on my right eye in the UK, they pulled out the eye slit the back done there work and stitched it back up. I am really not sure what the operation was ? They gave me a fluid to put in every morning of which i am still doing, My eye has still not improved If any think its deteriorated. I do understand the importance of my eyes, Money is an issue though i am on a budget here, I am leaning to Queen Sirikit hospital in Satahip. After a chat with my Dentist, She advised this Hospital. That is where the best trained doctors in Thailand are. But she said the servise isn't the same. But i can put up with that, Im having a cartilage operation there in June, Paying 20,000, BPH 120,000 International 80,000 BPH Rayong was giving a 50% discount 60,000, By the same surgeon from Queen Sirikit hosital in Satahip. WOW im falling to pieces LOL My missus is fed up.Shes was hoping my meat and 2 veg wernt functioning. Unlucky at 60 years its the only put of my body that works LOL

I suggest that before you go to see a doctor here you find out exactly what was done in the UK, and how it went. The doctors here will want to know and to leave them guessing would be a bit silly. ThaiBob
I think they now have x-ray machines in Thailand ? and eye surgeons and they will tell me EXACTLY what was done and what needs doing EXACTLY The equipment at Rutnin is state of the art. I would visit there just to have all the tests and get their opinion. As KK mentioned you must be able to provide details of your previous treatment. Not sure why you are not doing your followups in the UK. I was most impressed with rutnin as the testing and comprehensive examination surpassed my specialist in America. Once you have a plan of attack you can go to QS.
