Family visa for baby no marriage.

Featured Replies

Hi. Simple question.

I tried look it up but cant find stright answer.

Im not married, but I got toddler.

I believe they issue visas with birth cert.

Is it non O?

Is it valid for 90 days?

Can be extended? For how long?

After it expires can You run to laos get new one? As there no limits on fam visas like TR's.

Thanks a lot.

Unless you are the legal father of your child by way of legitimization or marriage you can only get a single entry non-o visa or 60 day extensions based upon being the parent of a Thai.

See: How To Gain Parental Rights As A Father

Once you are legal father of your child you can get a one year extension of stay at immigration or possibly multiple entry non-o visas.

The post was about not being married [on paper] and still getting a non immigrant, multiple entry, 'O' category visa. Only having a natural Thai son. It's all in the link above the paperwork needed.

If you only want a single entry non-imm O visa, then there may be other regional thai consulates that can do it, Savannakhet being one of the more popular ones.

Tell us how it all turns out.
