My gf was just watching the news in Thai and she said there is to be an alcohol ban for Songkran. Surely not. I read the same thing weeks ago but then nothing more has been said. Anyone else heard anything about this?

I read similar for Phuket.

Designated areas where drinking (bringing in) alcohol in public is forbidden.

Drinking in the bars/restaurants in the area OK.

No report of a special ban on selling in shops that I am aware of.
