Pattaya, Chon Buri:- A 33-year-old British man fought off six Thai teenagers who tried to rob him of his motorcycle early Friday, police said.

The Bang Lamung police station was alerted at 3 am that Danny Dauiels was attacked in front of the Charuporn gold shop on Liab Thang Rotfai Road next to Soi Khao Noi in Tambon Nongplua.

Police officers rushed to the scene to find an injured Dauiels standing next to his red Honda PCX motorcycle.

The Briton, who owns a beer bar on Soi Bua Khao in Central Pattaya, told police that when he was riding to his bar, six Thai teenagers on three motorcycles caught up with him and cut across his way.

Dauiels was startled and fell down. Then, the teenagers rushed in to hit and beat him with their crash helmets. The teenagers tried to snatch his motorcycle away but he fought off out and held on to his bike with all-out efforts.

The Briton said the teenagers fled the scene after they saw that he would not let go his motorcycle.

Pol Col Chanapat Nawalak, commander of the Bang Lamung police station, has ordered his officers to check footage of security cameras in the area. He also formed a team to try to hunt down the six teenagers.

The robbery attempt came just a day after a 50-year-old Indian tourist was robbed by five Thai hooligans on Pattaya Beach road early Thursday. The five teenagers were described by local people as hooligans who have extorted money from local residents and foreign tourists on the Pattaya beach.

Sorry your wrong . If you can stop a motorcycle and bully the rider off the machine its a easy way to be off and away in seconds without having to break locks or have key problems.Just hope this doesn't catch on.

I live near the Koi Noi/ Khatalo area an there are a few teenage gangs on mopeds that cruise around that area looking for trouble.

Interesting i saw a farang the other day riding his moped an fixed on front of his helmet was a small video camera. Not a bad idea if involved in an accident or probs with police or teenage troublemakers.

Well you see its an easy steal when the keys are in it and all they have to do is kick some guy or girl off it and do away with the bike. Most of them dont have the brains to hotwire a bike.

And some say it is safe in Pattaya when you not drunk , not abusive and at daylight time.....

This was happening 35 years ago in the tourist areas of Spain,My dad and i pasted 4 spanish kids, trying to steal my mum,s handbag,as they passed on 2 bikes.We managed to take one bike down, with 2 kids, and the other bike came back to help their mates.As the 2 were hurt, we only had to slap 2 more.A very hard lesson for them indeed.

No actually, this is pretty much the most used 'modus operandi' actually, in BKK, Hua Hin and Cha;am I have heard of it many times and also in the country -ide very common but in Pattaya not so.

it takes a lot of courage for Thais, as they are cowards to begin with, even in numbers they would avoid to attack a farang in his 30-s, perhaps he wore helmet as well, they misjudged also that he was fit and not drunk on his way to close up his bar.

Im glad the police are onto the clockwork orange gang on the beach, those guys have been attacking people for weeks, theres now about 8 of them since the last prison release and they have seriously beaten numerous random people, mostly Thais, and tried to extort money from the ladies, who they also will happily beat. if the cameras on the beach work they could track them quite easily but I doubt they do

No, I think that if the economy continues to slide, it will get much worse, as there is no safety net. The government needs to provide 300 Bhat per day jobs for these kids and if they choose to rip people off instead, they should be locked up until their attitude as adjustment has been completed.

I just love the way the local cops RUSH to these crime spots in tourist areas but are never quick enough to catch any offenders.

Doesn't take long for someone trying to read something into nothing. What is it with some? Not happy with a guy who has grown a couple trying to protect his property so let's suggest there has to more in it than meets the eye.

For god's sake what is it, too much to drink, high on something or the victim's version doesn't sound feasible, so let's suggest he's not being forthright and is concealing something. I really wish some would have a close look at themselves and just see how others see their foolishness, then maybe we would not have to put up with the rubbish that some go on with.
