Post Office during Songkran Holidays

Featured Replies

Long time reader. first time poster.

I have some documents sent to be from the UK. Due to arrive next Thursday. Does anyone know whether the post offices are open next Thursday and will Songkran slow down the delivery.

Many thanks

SSUM

All post offices are closed from 12th to the 15th of April inclusive

They reopen on the 16th

If you are due to receive inbound mail I would suspect they would be delayed as even the sorting centers are closed

I thought as much. Thanks so much for the reply.

the Thai postal service will operate on Thurs next however depending where your documents are within the system

will probably be delayed during this holiday time if in Thailand also maybe add maybe 2 extra days to allow for the backlog at point of entry (ie)

bkk

as an after thought do you have a tracking number ??

When have the documents be sent?

What kind of shipment?

Expect a complete standstill over Songkran!

I made the experience a couple of years ago: a bloody expensive (about 50 EUR) DHL document shipment was stuck in Bangkok for four days!!

I took two days from Europe to get there.

I am pessimistic you will receive it on Thursday.
