Good Massage

Featured Replies

Hi All

Been in Chiang Mai for quite a while now and I do enjoy a good massage. I do tend to prefer the Oil Massage as compared to the Thai Massage.

Interested to know of some good places in and around town that other people have good experiences.

Regards

Haven't been in about 2 months though...

It has been there 2+ yrs.

Coming south on Chan Klan Rd turn right on Chiang Mai Land Rd. Down approx 1/4 kl on right. Annies Massage. Yellow sign (in thai) next to one of the Karaokes. VERY professional. Nice rooms, all teak, aromatic oils, 2 hrs---700bht. Best I have found.

Backpackers massage at Back Packers guest house to the South of Mad Dog pizza about 1/4 block.

Ask for "A". Very accomodating. :o

The blind massage in Santithan for 100 baht/hour - connection to Maxine Caulfield foundation I believe.

The old medicine hospital towards airport plaza is good but they have a 2 tier pricing policy. They've written the rates in Thai behind the counter and these are the rates farang pay. Thais, unless a bargirl escorting her punter, always pay less.

These are good massages. If you want a 'good' massage, there's no shortage in Thailand.

Most places have a dual pricing for massage though mate. Several of my students work in the massage industry at very respectable places (i.e. not the dodgy stuff) and they always say there's 'Thai price' and there's 'Farang price'.

At one of the more famous places, it's 300 for westerners...220 for Thai's.

That's a very, very famous place amongst Thai's / one of the most famous names in the country.

I think that old hospital is a great place for a legit massage. I went there twice when I first came here to fix my old body. I had had some back problems for a few years and couldn't find anyone to deal with it. After twice at the hospital, I was fine.. Even though, as I recall, I paid 300 baht per hour...

There's a massage place in Airport Plaza Shopping Centre that is quite nice. They also have a branch on Mae Joe Road (just down from where Cafe Sansai used to be). It's great, not crowded and the massages are great.

I recommend Nimman House Thai Massage at 59/8 Nimmanhaemin Rd. next to Eat Me/Krit's Pasta (being remodeled?). The place is very clean, the service is top notch, parking is easy, and the prices are very reasonable. A Thai or Foot Massage is 150B, an Oil Massage is 300B/hr.

This place is not a Spa with Spa prices/packages but the atmosphere and service is on par with many of the Spas in town. This is the type of place I would take friends and family from out of town looking for a legit massage at a reasonable price. Plus, my wife lets me get massages there. :o
