Hey folks,

I've never gotten into Chiang Mai aiport so late. Around 2:00am my hotel has advised me a TukTuk will charge 300-400 baht! That sounds nuts.

Internet says something about pre-paid taxi counters for 150baht for inside the moat. Does this exist and are they open at that time?

The taxi counters do exist (there are two) and it is 150 thb fare to anywhere inside the moat. I've never flown into CM that late either so can't say whether or not they'll be open at 2:00 a.m.

I doubt they are awake at 2am....300-400 bahts is not nuts, it's supply and demand...I have booked a taxi from airport before to pick me up at about 6am about ten minutes drive..

the price is 350 baht becos of the odd hours...i paid 400...

Alternatively you can loiter around till morning and get a taxi for 150 to town..

Lots of flights in the middle of the night nowadays with plenty of people coming and going. I don't have price info but you won't have to sit there till the morning.
