The Nation

BANGKOK: -- A ten-wheel oil tanker hit four people installing reflective road markers on the Mittraparp Road in Nakhon Ratchasima's None Sung district Thursday morning.

Two workers and the contractor were killed at the scene while another worker was badly injured. The oil tanker driver was also killed because his truck also crashed into the rear of a six-wheel truck of the contractor.

The oil tanker driver was identified as Pongrit Boonra. Ratchasak Charoenkulchaiyaporn, 35, the contractor, was killed along with his two workers - Chokchai Khiewaram and an unidentified one. Another worker, Suriya Akkachart was injured.

Accident could probably had been avoid if the roadworks contractor had placed sufficient warning barriers and traffic cones starting a 100m from where work is being carried out.

They are doing the same work here in my city and they don't give any warning at all that there is construction ahead.

I saw a road worker on Pratamak Hill doing something to a central reservation sign.

There was a warning cone.

The cone was placed less than 1 metre from his legs. cheesy.gif

My comment is 100% fact 0% exaggeration.

Pity I didn't take a pic.

every day like this , every day have many people dies on the roads in thailand . but they are the best drivers of the world , in the best country of the world and the best culture of the world . in place of the ( very very ) stupid soap , they have to pass driving lessons . anyway , since they don't change mentality , stop to be xenophobe and understand that they are most them stupid , nothing will change for one hundred years more

A few days ago, in Korat, we drove down this road for a klic, and the bridge was being worked on, no warnings....about 5 or 6 cars in front of us doing u-turns...pathetic

Indeed. Positioning the signs 20ft up the road is all to commonplace.

Life is certainly cheap in Thailand

Disgusting, but hey we have got rid of the umbrellas on the beach.

Why am i not surprised by this news.

When will road safety start to be taken seriously in LOS?

When a familymember of a VIP-person gets killed cause of the road mayhem and lack of the most basic safety - its like watching a scary comedy when driving
