Ministry of Social Development and Human Security boasting its 6 month achievements

BANGKOK, 24 April 2015 (NNT)-The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has claimed it has been able to effectively address a number of social issues in the past 6 months, particularly human trafficking problems.

Social Development and Human Security Minister Police General Adul Saengsingkeaw said his ministry has made great achievements under the direction of the government’s policy, which is aimed at reducing social inequality.

In terms of anti-human trafficking efforts, the Ministry has successfully rescued Thai fishermen falling victims to human traffickers in Indonesia and removing street beggars nationwide.

It has also raised the standards of living for the aging population and the disabled. The Police General added that several legislatures have been amended to response to the current social issues, particularly those concerning anti-human trafficking and children.

In addition, structural changes within public organizations and the improvement of human resources have been carried out ahead of ASEAN Economic Community.

The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security is determined to continue tackling human trafficking issues, increasing human resource skills, and eradicating street beggars in the next 6 months.

The headline used the word boosting. They should have used boasting instead.

Also, their removal of beggars is non existent. All a better needs to do is notify the local police they will be begging there. Then they will receive permission. This is what was said in Thai news on TV.

"In terms of anti-human trafficking efforts, the Ministry has successfully rescued Thai fishermen falling victims to human traffickers in Indonesia and removing street beggars nationwide." It's not the Thai fisherman that were abducted by Indonesian's that the EC is concerned about. It's the Thais who have participated in this quagmire of fishing slavery, and that is their main concern. I see no fewer beggars... but perhaps that is just my limited geographical location. At some point it has to be the press and not the bloggers and posters that call a spade a spade.

The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has claimed it has been able to effectively address a number of social issues in the past 6 months, particularly human trafficking problems.

It hasn't addressed anything other than finally owning up to the despicable way in which humans are used and abused for profit and they only did this after the US put them on T3 and the EU issued a yellow card.

In terms of anti-human trafficking efforts, the Ministry has successfully rescued Thai fishermen falling victims to human traffickers in Indonesia and removing street beggars nationwide

And yet in other news there's still between 2,000 and 4,000 (depending on the articles you read) that remains to be rescued ... the couple of hundred they did rescue now appears to be a paltry figure and once again the truth emerges to see the bigger picture that Thai officials have attempted to whitewash over with their usual rhetoric of 'look how great we are'.

As for the beggars ... every country has the same issue to some degree but in Thailand that is exasperated due to the inequality of living standards and the clear lack of state care.

So effectively the OP is just more propaganda that is full of holes ... or rather lies.

More talk for "the happiness of Thai people" but little substantial action? Will their western trading partners be impressed (about human trafficking)? I doubt it. And if they are able to stop the human trafficking within the fishing industry, will they stop at that or wait for more instances in other areas to be publicly exposed and opposed before they do anymore? whistling.gif
