So manyBangkok airports, so little Bhat... :o

At Don Muang, International Terminal 1 I've seen some currency exchange booths open at about 01:00 when I arrived. Many are closed but some are still open, I presume 24 hours. At the domestic terminal I believe they say they open at 07:00, but one of them was open shortly after 06:00, though don't know if they open that early every day or not. Exchanging cash at that time of the day will get you a much lower rate than exchanging during banking hours. If you really need Baht that early, I'd recommend only exchanging what you need and changing the rest later at a bank at your final destination, provided it's not on a weekend or holiday. BTW, I believe travellers cheques get the same rate regardless of the time of day. If you're only exchanging a small amount, say 100 USD, it's not really worth worrying about the rate as it will likely only amount to 100 Baht or less. But if you're exchanging currency enough for a 2-week vacation, then it would likely be worthwhile to get a better rate.
