Siam Paragon Shames Taxi Drivers, Provides Names

Siam Paragon and the Department of Land Transport have shamed taxi drivers that refuse to pick up certain passengers. In total, 31 drivers have been shamed for refusing fairs at Siam Paragon. There are currently 23 drivers the authorities are trying to locate that have also refused fares.

The license plate numbers of all drivers that have refused fares have been listed at the mall.

Those that have been caught also have their names and the taxi agency they work for listed as well. The posting came after the urging from Teerapong Rodprasert, director-general, to all department stores to gather information on taxis that refuse to pick up passengers. The Department of Land Transport has already suspended two drivers for 7 days for not accepting fares.

Last week, 34 cabbies were arrested and fined by local police for refusing fares near Sukhumvit Road.

The biggest issue seen in the Ratchaprasong shopping district is that cabbies refuse fares and that many cabbies do not turn on their meters. Poor service is being monitored, and there is a DLT smartphone app that can be used to report poor service to the correct authorities.

The shaming has been met with praise by locals that have been rejected fares numerous times a day in the district.

GOOD!

Report any driver that refuses a fare or attempts to scam.

Dial 1584.

1. Report the number plate on the inside passenger door or the same number painted on the outside door.

2. Colour of taxi.

3. Time of incident.

These taxis will receive a 1,000Bt fine for every complaint when they renew the license.

What about also naming and shaming all the Siam Paragon's Management who are behind the car park management and also the management of the traffic outside its premises. Real group of buffons. Plus I hate the fact that they discrimnate the parking spaces by allowing so called hiso dogs to park on the ground floor and numerous stupid places reserved for various stupid programmes ie serenade, etc etc. Most of these dogs are not the ones spending much monies in the premises and the shop owners should also make it clear to the stupid management.

most of those HISO DOGS (not so probably high-ranking politicians or army members who will certainly get this privilege for free) as you call them actually pay ludicrous amounts of money for their VIP status each year, so this is one of the small "perks" they receive for being a PARAGON VIP MEMBER

What about Ocean World?

This business has double pricing for tourists.

The sleazy manager hides the real price in Thai script.

What other business in Siam a Paragon are running a scam I wonder?

Firstly, Ocean World is an Australian owned, operated and managed company.

Secondly, nothing is hidden in Thai script. They have prices listed in English for:

1) Foreigners.

2) Thais and Expats.

If you have a Thai Driving License or even an ATM you qualify as an Expat. Both sets of prices are clearly shown.
