Thailand and the UK sign an MOU on cultural exchange

The Culture Ministry has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cultural cooperation with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport of the United Kingdom.

Culture permanent-secretary Khunying Thipawadee Meksawan (ทิพาวดี เมฆสวรรค์) said under the agreement, which lasts three years, the UK and Thailand will jointly support and develop western art, particularly in the fields of music, movies, fashion and contemporary art.

Khunying Thipawadee said experts of the two countries will exchange information and visits to their projects, which, in the first two years, will emphasize creative industries such as music video production and Bangkok fashion city.

She said the UK also will help Thailand in museum development and conservation of ancient heritages.
