Multiple Entry Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

Hi Folks.

I am currently staying in Thailand on a 3 Entry Tourist Visa Valid for 6 months. I have been here since the 27th June and I have already used up two entries (one arriving in country and one after my first 60 days were up).

Now, as I got a Visa from the Thai Consulate in the UK before I came here and did not get a Visa upon entry of the Country am I uneffected by the new '90 days in country, 90 days out' rules.

Also, As my visa is Valid for 6 months does that mean I have to use up my last entry before the 6 month validity date is up but my stay can go over this date. For example I am in Thailand and the Validity date finishes on the 30th November. I use up my last entry on the 29th of November and that entry is Valid for a further 60 days from that date.

As a Final question will I be able to Visit immigration and get an extention on one of my Entries and how long will that extention be for?

I am currently in Patong in Phuket and will be here until the 30th.

Thanks for the help.

Graeme

1. The new rules, as understood thus far, do not effect entry with visa.

2. Yes. Only your entry has to be during visa validity period. You will still get the normal 60 day stay from entry date.

3. Extension of 30 days for 1,900 baht. Each entry can/could have been extended.

Thanks for the Help. I'll be getting this entry extended asap then.

I still do not understand.

I plan to get a 2-entry tourist visa.

I come to Thailand, do I get a stamp that the visa is valid for 120 days?

I extend the first one so I stay for 90 days. Then I go to some neighboring country. Does it mean that I can stay inthe neighboring country for maximum 30 days and then enter Thailand for another 60+30 days?

I tried to get an answer from the embassy in Stockholm twice, but they have refused to answer the mail.

You get a two entry tourist visa (if still available) from your home country Consulate and have six months from date of issue to use it. You enter Thailand and receive a 60 day permitted to stay stamp which you may extend for another 30 days at an immigration office if you want (cost 1,900 baht). You can leave at any time rather than stay that full 90 days. As long as your six month visa date has not expired you can later return and obtain another 60 day stay and extend another 30 days. Once you enter the visa dates do not matter and can expire - what matters is your permitted to stay stamp - and that first 60 day stamp can still be extended if you so want.

Thanks a lot. Seems clear enough - I will send it to the embassy when I apply :o On their page at http://www.thaiembassy.se/consular/visa.php the double entry is offered still.

I think this question or similar has been asked, read thru the other threads but it appears to be confusion so here it goes again:

OK I'm getting a 1 entry or 2 entry tourist visa from the LA,CA consulate in the US (depending on if they give me 2 entry like they usually done).. once the 2,3,4,5,or 6 months is over (after I went to border and re-entered once)..can i fly to Phenom Penn and get 1 tourist visa..then after 3 more months back to LA..thats exactly how I been doing it last 8 years, but at least I wasn't one of those people who go to the border every by land every month(thx for ruin it for the rest of us LOL :o ), but i basically wind up 'living' here on tourist visas ..

Can I still do that..or is it when I get to pnom penn or Singapore next time they will say sorry you must stay out of Thailand for 3 months??

We do not know that answer yet. But it may be that the Consulates will take a closer look at your current history prior to visa issue. But that is in the future and we don't have a good crystal ball.
