These "travellers" from undeveloped poor or war torn countries are not tourists! Come to Thailand because its so easy to enter and then its a life of crime. Thailand needs to get REAL tough at entry points and tough punishments when convicted of crimes. These guys will just be deported....... and free to return again in the future.

Iranian Shoplifters caught at Big C North Pattaya

iran-2.jpg

PATTAYA:--Late on Thursday Night Security Guards at the Big C Supercenter caught two Iranians attempting to take items from the store without making any effort to pay for them.

Pattaya Police made their way to the store and arrested Mr. Mohamed Nejead aged 22 and Mr. Omid Solmahle aged 20. The pair were first spotted by Khun Tana, one of the Guards, entering the store with a large white empty bag. He decided to follow them and saw the pair take items of clothing and remove the price tags before placing them inside the bag.

He continued to follow the pair who made their way out of the store with the white bag which was now full of clothes. At this point he approached the pair and challenged them for a receipt which they were unable to produce.

keep them in prison until there relatives in Iran will pay penalty (to the shop owner) worth 100 times of what they try to stole. this will send a clear signal to those who plan there trip to Thailand for the same kind of "business".

What a stupid comment, anti social crime yes but he'll you can kill people here in cold blood it seems for some it's hardly considered a crime.

oh yeah, I know this kind of attitude. that's why London is full of shoplifters, while Singapore is not.

"we should not blame the culprit, may be he was hungry, may be mother degraded him while he was a child" and these grown children keep harassing looting and killing innocent civilians.

any sane method which leads to eradication of crimes is good

I do not know what Iran,s people are good at but i believe that they should not try to steal clothes as a living. Do not under estimate Thai stores security!

Stupid is as stupid does!

Getting caught stealing in Iran would result in the removal of a hand, so I can understand their option of Thailand.

Good they were caught stealing by alert security.

Infact, well done "Security".

And they understand the concept of an eye for an eye, so why not let Sergeant Somchai loose with a meat cleaver, could start a new spectator sport and Pattaya's own version of chop chop square

Do you really want to cut someone's hand off for stealing

or are just joking ?

Thaivisa titled the news correctly reporting "Two foreign tourists", instead of "English Tourists", "American Tourists", "Nigerian Tourists" etc.

Then we cannot judge the people by skin color or by the nationality. Most people come here for a good time. But some wanted to land up bad time here, and goes to jails.

Some of my Thai friends are afraid of traveling in France, because they got robbed twice there in the public transport, it does not mean that France is a bad country.
