I would like to take my old Land Rover around Thailand and Cambodia and I was told by the embassy in Australia that it is illegal to drive a right hand drive vehicle in Cambodia. Is there a way round this? Like most people, this has been my life long dream.

I drove down to the cambodian boarder near trat a few weeks ago. Upon getting my visa done one of the touts said there was a nice town about 20k from the check point, I asked if it would be possible to take my car.

The answer, NO WAY..

The guy said he had never seen 1 farang take a car though the checkpoint and started wittering on about duty, etc.
