North is getting rain- How about elsewhere?

Featured Replies

Been at the in-laws in Nan for the past four days and it's been hot and dry until yesterday when we got a fair amount of rain and today it's rained several times. Am waiting to see if the next few days are similar, but it appears the rainy season has arrived here. How about elsewhere in the Kingdom?

Kalasin loads

Despite the recent rain, water still appears to be rationed as it only flows a couple of hours each morning. Enough for us to fill water containers and do a load of wash.

There hasn't been much chatter about this, but it's a bit scary when the water authority says even with rationed amounts the Bangkok metro area only has about 30 days of water remaining. Hopefully relief is coming now and fast and it won't be an issue, but it seems like we missed that bullet pretty closely.

No rain to speak for the past eight months, 22 kilo's North of Chiang Mai.

I'll be in Chiang Mai this weekend and wouldn't mind if the weekend market were dry. Last time I went it was pouring and although the rain made for some good bargains, it was not fun being soaked.

Ah, Chiang Mai Muang is a different story entirely, bring your wet suit and flippers.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll dress like farang going for a stroll on Khao San during Songran.
