Phone-call distraction blamed for fire at East Pattaya house



PATTAYA: -- Late on Sunday Night two Pattaya Firetrucks were called to a house fire at a village in East Pattaya, which was blamed on a longer-than-expected phone call which distracted the house owner, who was frying chicken at the time.

The fire took hold of the kitchen area of the house at the Chockchai Green View Village, owned by Khun Kanang aged 43, just before 10pm on Sunday Night. At the time she was preparing fried chicken when her phone rang and she left the kitchen to take the call.

Although the details of the conversation were not made public, it was enough to distract her from her cooking and 5 minutes after the call began Khun Kanang saw smoke and noticed a burning smell which caused her to scream for help.
