Thai politics: Suthep will focus on nation after he leaves the monkhood

democracy is a lie which American NGOs use as a weapon against independent governments. any society consists of of 80% losers and 20% winners, and for a demagogue it's easy to convince losers that they are poor not because they are lazy and incompetent but because the minority stole from them. that's why any democracy leads to socialism and an idea "rob and share". it already happened in Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Greece...

even America drifts to socialism, notwithstanding that US is not a true democracy (anti-populist democrat-republican filter).

even Aristotle was against democracy - but modern political discourse would not admit the obvious...

That is the definition of Suthep mind and what he wants. him and the establishment not want any change. :

t's easy to convince losers that they are poor not because they are lazy and incompetent but because the minority stole from them.

The guys like suthep enjoy far too much their driver, gardener, maid, waiter and would certainly not want to see them baing more costly or aspiring for a better social rank....

What you seem to forget here is we, sugar daddy farangs as you call us (even if i am not a dad and maybe younger than you), are just tired to see that one crook replace another in this country...and Suthep is a big crook...but it s ok, cause " nobody is perfect" right?

what a joke!

so what's a problem? if you are so tired of Thailand why don't you relocate to another country which better suits your political views?

Thai people have no obligation to make you happy by their politics.

"why dont you go home thenpassifier.gif "

Strong argument you got going there thumbsup.gif

and do you have a refutation of it?

1) you can't accept how thing are being done in Thailand

2) you are just a guest here, so you have neither moral nor legal right to influence politics

so why don't you leave this country? I bet, Thailand will not miss you

Yep we have refutation :

1) we didn t come here for politics

2) we pay taxes and by so we also participate to the economic life of this country

3) you could easily say the same to every NGO like Human Right Watch or others which complain about legal system, freedom of speech, abusive lese majesty law...

4) I am more than a guest, a guest pay for nothing or come here for holidays, this is not my case and as it impacts on the business which help Thailand to be wealthier and economically strong in SEA...

5) So i cam here legally, i pay taxes, i can say whatever i want...and if you re not happy with that and cannot confront any different opinion than yours or justify your opinion ( i still wait the "he is human and can do mistakes, where do the money Suthep took from thestreet went,....) you have even less interest or justification for your speech.

I didn't say that you can't express your opinion. I said that if you can't accept the political reality of the country- why do you torture yourself? why don't you go somewhere else?

and you are able to make a business because Thai government did a mercy for you, GRANTED a possibility for you to earn profit in the country.

and if you are so much against the political system why don't you be honest and share your feelings with an immigration officer during your next visa application?

PS and all foreign NGOs should be kicked out of the country as soon as possible. that's for sure.

by the way - complaining about lese majeste law - is outlawed in this country. so these NGOs are directly breaking the law of the country which granted them an ability to operate on it's territory?

drivers, gardeners and maids are free to earn better social rank by starting their own business and becoming a new Suthep.

instead of this, drivers, gardeners and maids want the state to rob those who succeed and share there money among losers.

who told you I can't accept "the reality of political debates in this forum"? I come here for debates. otherwise - no interest to post.

please show me the post where I mentioned that everybody on TVF must agree with me. or you are a liar.

but you and others wrote that you can't accept the reality of politics in this country. so why do you torture yourself?

why don't you leave it?

I am just trying to understand there psychology: with all those ranting about "thainess" "anti-democratic regime" "dishonest Thai women" "Thai driving style" "Thai corruption" they keep paying a lot of money in order to stay here.

like an old guy I met near the embassy of Thailand in Vientiane. He was bashing Thais, how they cheat him all the time, do not give him enough respect, and ranted about how Lao people are better, Laos has an unspoiled nature, prices are low and it's more easy to make visa in Laos etc

so I told him: man, look around! you are in Laos already! why don't you just stay here?

he shut up and looked on me like on an enemy for the rest of the time.

if you are so unhappy with "thainess", why don't they find a country which better suits your attitude, political views, moral values etc?

I really want to understand!

Thank you for this piece of profound analysis. You clearly have a deep and comprehensive grasp of the nuances and complexities of Thai society and politics.I am sure I speak for many in saying we look forward to more of your fascinating observations.

You are the grand poo bah of sarcasm jayboy ! thumbsup.gif

Because humans like to whine, if you think this only happens in Thailand you need to get out and about more.

British people take whining to an all new level, and yes I'm British too, I've seen and heard them whine in every single country I've ever been to, they whine about things from " why don't you serve British food here?" " why is it so damn hot/cold/wet/windy" " why am I getting bitten to death by mossies" and so on an on an on.

It's like trying to understand women!!

Oh well, we should all give up on democracy and accept that most of us will always be losers. Bring on totalitarianism. If democracy can't work in Venezuela, Zimbabwe and Greece then we are all doomed.

the real modesty is an ability to accept the truth about yourself and others. but the majority will always not be able to do that. That's why they should not be given the right to influence the management of there country.

finally an adequate answer. something to think of.

Thank you.

it reminds me the chat of a group of Singaporeans. they bashed Lee Quan Yew (he was alive at that time). So I told them: look at yourself! He is a genius, all you have now (even your lives) you owe him! without him Singapore would be just another third world country or even disappear!...

they stopped talking for a moment and answered - we understand all of this. but we feel joy bashing him. Stop spoiling our pleasure!

humans are not grateful.

Timmy, Have you never noticed that we humans love to elevate people into idol status, and then find all sorts of ways and means in which to knock them back down to earth again?

because they like to believe that idols have the same sins as them.

this makes everyman more important in his own eyes.

sad but true...

Real modesty 5555. That is word that doesn't spring to mind when reading your posts. Anyone who thinks that 80% of the population doesn't deserve any say in how their country is run is certainly not modest. Arrogant springs to mind along with many other terms that might get my post removed.

I spoke about Western type of thinking. In a Buddhist country people are taught to see things as they are - the most important Buddhist meditation is called "seeing as it is"

this is, for my opinion, the main difference. That's why Thai everyman can admit to himself that somebody can be more clever in management of the country than he is.

And farang, formed by Western ideology and brainwashed by leftists propaganda, just can't.

that's why farangs will never understand Thais.

yes, Thailand as any other free market economy is trying to attract investors. Real investors with millions or billions of dollars, new ideas and technology.

But we speak about Western sugar daddies, opening another beer bar, guesthouse, restaurant, gym, real estate agency, diving club, "news internet site" etc.

Do not flatter yourself - Thailand does not need them. They bring more harm than good to Thai society by spreading immorality, lust and antisocial hedonistic way of life.

it's so touching to read how sugar daddies are trying to convince themselves how important and precious they are for Thai economy. And that's why Thai authorities should treat them better - give them free visas, land owning rights etc.

no way. don't lie to yourself.

why no point to speak what you think about the country? visa is a mercy. it's granted. do you really think it's morally correct to ask for mercy and anonymously bash the one who you ask?

in modern world, in a free developed economy poor people are poor because they choose to be poor. they spend their life drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana and parasitizing on welfare.

government should make efforts to make the economy more free, to make it easier for paupers, who want to change their life, to do that. Not by paying them pensions but by making it easier for them to succeed, to get education, to start a new business. not because the government owes paupers, but because it's good for the whole country's economy.

nobody owes anybody.

and those who don't want to change - deserve to die in poverty without any support from those who succeed. (except ones who can't change - mentally disturbed, disabled people etc).

it's so touching to read how sugar daddies are trying to convince themselves how important and precious they are for Thai economy.

(except ones who can't change - mentally disturbed, disabled people etc).

in modern world, in a free developed economy poor people are poor because they choose to be poor.

so you aren't poor, ... except in your heart and head... impoverished of sympathy and sensibilities...

everything I achieved in my life I did (and do now) with my own hands. And I despise those (healthy) people who don't do anything to change there lifes and blame everybody except themselves in their own misery and poverty.

Thailand has MERCY ????cheesy.gif

guy, this country begs for investors, especially those days with the Junta in power and the international market being more and more cautious....if you believe this is not a win-win situation when foreigners invest in this country then you don t understand sh.t about economy...

As the freedom of speech is raped every day here no point to speak when i make my visa...a visa F by the way.....

NGO tell exactly what The King Himself told before : he is human and can be criticized...you will tell me you do not know that this law is nothing more than a political tool to shut up the ones who do not agree with the establishment and the Army.

And your last remarks summerize everything : you think the poors are communists? what a joke!

Not anybody has the chance to start their life in a wealthy family and with all the pressure the poors have to be kept in the dirt by those who use coercion, intimidation and killings sometimes...

No need to discuss further, I sense that you re a right winged man, probably a bit racist and of course with no clue of the real events happening here, as you are brainwashed by decades of propaganda....

I still not have explanations about the " he is human and can make mistakes" and why this should apply only to suthep...

Sweet dreams, the wake up will be harsh, be sure of that

yes, Thailand as any other free market economy is trying to attract investors. Real investors with millions or billions of dollars, new ideas and technology.

But we speak about Western sugar daddies, opening another beer bar, guesthouse, restaurant, gym, real estate agency, diving club, "news internet site" etc.

that you despise other people is obvious.

I feel sorry for you.
