I posted this topic on the Pattaya forum, but didn't get the right answer.

I need to buy a connector for my gas log fire that screws into the place where the red plastic stopper is.

The connector is 3/8" (not the standard 1/2"), and the male part will somehow connect to the plastic gas cable from the LPG gas bottle.

I think I need a connector like the brass connector above the red plastic stopper.

I would like to know where I can go to buy such a connector, as the shops that sell these type of connectors seem to sell only 1/2".

Look for a shop that sells welding supplies. They should have a brass fitting that will screw into the unit that has a hose fitting on the other end that you would fit with a clamp. You might have to draw a picture of what you want. The shop that I use has the fittings hidden in a cabinet in the back room.

It would be better if you screwed a short piece of 3/8 pipe into the unit and then used a female fitting to connect the hose. Easy to remove if necessary.

Heating appliances? I can't get cool if I slept with my feet in the fridge. I'd sleep outside if it weren't for the mosquitoes and other wild life. I've been here about nine years in the Pattaya area and about four years ago I remember two consecutive days where I had to put on extra clothing in the morning. I've started sweating just thinking about central heating.

In his other thread he did mention the cool winds from China blowing across Isan so perhaps plans to have upcountry where it actually can get a bit nippy.

You're right there lopburi3, and we have been in the house up-country for about 4 months, but still building as you can see from the pics.

The house is now finished, except for all the stuff ups, but the shed had to be built and the log fire put on the back burner. I've had it for over a year now and can't wait to get it all in and finished.

Thanks for the EBay tip, so will buy it from there.

I think I've spotted your real issue, it's your open floor plan. tongue.png

A few walls might help.

A few walls might help.

Before I put the walls up, I had to fix up the cement floor level.

As you can see I put more mess in and form boards, as, for a reason best understood by the team that built the shed, they decided that the floor should be a lot lower than what we agreed on and where I drew the marks on the cement columns.

I was there, telling them that the floor level was wrong, not to the marks, they were agreeing and still laid the cement to where they wanted. I eventually got the Mrs to ask them why, and they said that if they laid the cement to the height I wanted, then the roof would be to low.

I told them they were wrong again, and they went away and I still owed them money.

After several days the Mrs went to see them and the boss said he would fix it, and came back with a bag of cement, and proceeded to hand broadcast cement and water on top of the cement they laid.

That was enough for my patience, so I said 'good bye'.

Another team then came in and laid the cement to the level I wanted, now all done, and next the walls.

Thanks for the tip about the 'open floor plan' Rich.
