Transport Ministry suggests BMTA cancel orders of remaining NGV buses

Heavy rain forecast in the East and South of Thailand

BANGKOK, 10 August 2015 (NNT)-Heavy rain has been forecast in the East and South of Thailand. Residents have been warned against flash floods during this time.


According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure trough moving across the Northeast and North of Thailand, and a south westerly wind in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea will bring heavy rain to the east coast and southern provinces.

Flood warnings have been issued for people living in Trat, Ranong, Pang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun. Fishing boats should proceed with caution at sea, as waves could reach the maximum height of 3 meters.

Meanwhile, those planning to travel to China have been advised to keep updated on the weather forecast before leaving Thailand, as the powerful storm ‘Souderlor’ is moving towards the south eastern part of the country.
