NLA meets to decide fate of 248 MPs

BANGKOK: -- The National Legislative Assembly (NLA) is holding a meeting to decide the fate of the 248 former MPs over their illegitimate amending of the draft charter regarding the composition of the Senate this morning.

The meeting started at 10.00 am today with only representative of the National Anti Corruption Commission (NACC), the accuser, given chance to speak in closing the case.

After the closing statement by the NACC representative, the NLA will vote to impeach the accused MPs.

If they are impeached, they will face five-year ban in politics.

If reform would be seriously implemented any culprit should be barred for life from entering public service.

How ironic.

The 248 MP's who did not allow the DEM's to debate this under a democratic govt are allowed a chance to speak in closing the case under a Junta led govt with both having already made up their mind which path will be followed.

At least the Junta put on a facade of democracy.

How ironic.

Did you even bother to read the OP?

Is the sun shining in Jamie Land?

You generally spout nonsense, but in this case the OP is only 3 lines, one of which is:

More nonsensical than usual...

I know we should not get personal in this forum, but I have to ask these questions:

1) Do you actually speak like this in real life?

2) If so, do you have any friends at all?

How ironic.

Utter rubbish as usual from this troll.

Let's not leave anything out. Remember the topic which was to be debated was whether to have a fully democratically elected senate. And the "democratic party" was against having a democratically elected senate but wants it to be chosen by the elites not the people.

An appointed assembly judging people who are against the principle of appointing members of assemblies.Isn't there a conflict of interest? :)

The National Legislative Assembly Friday voted not to impeach 248 former MPs in the case of unconstitutional amendment to the 2007 charter over the Senate's composition.

The votes were given to each of the former MPs from the Pheu Thai coalition. Most NLA members voted not to impeach each of the former MPs.
