Pornthip is censured by the Medical council over comments she made, and yesterday Andy Hall indited... coincidence? perhaps, but the cynic in me would have me believe otherwise. To me the single most astounding thing I have read so far (among many astounding things) is the report that the RTP did not test the alleged murder weapon for finger prints or DNA (assuming this is true as I, as others, have seen some video of the hoe being swabbed – inconvenient prints/DNA perhaps?). If only one thing was needed to sum up this travesty it is this. How can there be a murder trial without a weapon? Or a believable motive? Last year JDA or JTJ (I can’t remember which and apologies for bringing them up) referred several times to the “overwhelming evidence” against the B2. Well after 10 (11?) days of the prosecution presenting their case we have yet to hear of a single piece of evidence of any kind other than claims of a DNA match which to me, coming from the RTP, qualifies as hearsay - and even if correct only goes to rape not murder as has been stated a number of times. I am a little puzzled why the defense asked for new samples if the RTP was to be involved in any way. Do we know for sure the chain of custody of these new samples? I see references to the results being "returned directly to the defense" but what happens to them before this? IMHO there has been way too much emphasis on the DNA unless there is a silver bullet coming from the UK (assuming it will be admissible). And, for what it’s worth, a couple of weeks ago I met a young lady from Norfolk who works with Hannah’s cousin. She told me the family absolutely does NOT believe what they were told. "and even if correct only goes to rape not murder" So what you are saying is they raped her and then went home to bed, and someone else came along and killed Hannah and David. Put it like that and it sounds silly BUT you cannot make assumptions in law. It must be proved, with evidence that they did commit the murder. Why might that be....Could you maybe share with is why you're prejudiced against Burmese folks? You're basically saying it's more likely the B2 commited the crime strictly because they're Burmese. Sounds Thai to me. Now, why do you think there is so much controversie surrounding this case.... Could it be the "Mafia" Element, maybe the fact that DoDo (lol) and Mon were the very first suspects until police got wind of what was happening and switched the commander mid investigation while the whole world was watching? Panya Mamen would NOT accuse them on zero evidence, From that very point on its been quite obvious the case and investigation are a complete cock up. You are sticking up for just 2 Burmese people or 4 if you include the parents, I am sticking up for all the 4000 Burmese on Koh Tao by saying that they would want to leave the island if NS did it. If everyone wanted the case covered up why send Panya down to find the Truth ? why not just send another corrupt policemen and say go find me some Burmese scapegoats ? Jobs that are beneath thais ? its obvious you don't think much of Thai People. what do you think all Thai people are doing working high well paid jobs ? Was it intentional that they used men with no former experience as interpreters? Does the court deem the fairness of the trial to be such a low priority? Because, like has been said before, the police never expected the B2 to have any defense team to call them on their practices so all they needed to show was that they used a Burmese translator to the trial. They never expected an international backing team for the defense to scrutinize their every step of the investigation and point out that he didn't speak Thai or even Burmese!! This is fundamentally why the case the prosecution has been left with has looked so shambolic during their time in court. Now imagine how many thousands of cases have gone ahead in Thailand without an all star defense team over the last few decades where the police have acted with complete impunity and made up and won cases against whoever they wanted to. it would not suprise me if there never was an interpreter. The Koh Tao defense scheduled dates are 7 days including 1-2 Sept, 11 Sept and 22-25 Sept. I guess the Bangkok Court should have scheduled their plea date to better accommodate Mr. Hall's busy schedule.
