PATTAYA:--PATTAYA – August 19,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; Mr Ronnakit Ekasing (Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City, Chon Buri province) had arranged a meeting with passenger boat operators that travelled from Pattaya to Koh Larn. The meeting was about improving Marine Safety and there will also be a control centre to prevent accidents and all boats will be tracked.

Mr. Ronnakit revealed that CCTVs are to be installed on 50 passenger boats that travel between Pattaya and Koh Larn.

The representatives of Asia Traffic Technology and Service Co., Ltd. who is responsible for this project revealed that CCTVs will be installed on 50 passenger boats and chartered boats

Doesn't it remind you of the pedestrian light fiasco? Not soon after they were installed they started turning them off - first on weekends, then permanently.

If the CCTV they plan to install are as bad as the ones in Bangkok around Erawan Shrine, they may as well not bother.

They should be installed at the top of the mast as this is more likely to stay above water.

a very good idea installing cctvs on ferries might keep the crime rate down .
