webfact Posted August 21, 2015 Share Posted August 21, 2015 Bomb hardly deter Indonesian tourists visiting ThailandBANGKOK: -- The bombing incident in Bangkok is not significantly affecting the number of Indonesian tourists traveling to Bangkok, although several travel agencies that offer trips to Thailand said there were a few cancellations, The Jakarta Post reported.Smiling Tour marketing and communication vice president Putu Ayu Aristyadewi said there had not been a significant impact from the bombing.A similar comment was made by Yulia Rachmawati from PT Dwidaya Worldwide travel agency. Yulia said that it is too early to make any conclusions related to the bombing.However, she said several Indonesian tourists cancelled their trips to Thailand after the incident.Rudiana, vice chairman of the Association of Indonesia Travel Agents (ASITA), said that trip cancellations made after the Bangkok shrine bombing should be viewed as a normal response. “Yes, there are some trip cancellations, but various factors can impact the decisions including the low-season and the increase of the dollar’s value against the rupiah,” he explained.Indra Nugraha, marketing manager at the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in Jakarta, said he received several reports regarding trip cancellations from Indonesia to Thailand.“From the reports we have received so far, two people reportedly cancelled their trips from a group of 30 people. The people quoted are indonesian and they are quite right…indonesians are quite used to the threat (and execution) of horrific explosives….having had a number of them in jakarta and bali….they are pretty cool about it and have accepted it as a way of life. It could happen anywhere is their logic and they are right. Indonesians are quality tourists….they have far better manners than anyone in asia and many of them are pretty loaded. The humans are out of sight, relaxing under a shade tree, surfing the net on their smart-phones and enjoying iced-drinks.The "apes", in this photo, only replaced the relaxing Indonesian team.
