More rain forecast in the South of Thailand this weekend

BANGKOK, 21 August 2015 (NNT) - The Meteorological Department has forecast that the upper part of the South of Thailand will experience more rain this weekend.

The weather forecast points to a monsoon trough moving across the North and Northeast and a southwesterly wind in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea, which will bring more rain to the South.

Residents living in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Chumphon and Surat Thani provinces have been warned of heavy rain. Fishermen should proceed with caution when leaving the shore.

Those planning to visit Taiwan and the Philippines this weekend are advised to consult the weather forecast before departure, as Typhoon Goni is expected to make landfall at both countries this weekend.

Let's give credit to the Royal rain-making department for the monsoons but it may be time to start cutting back on the flights.
