Need advice on moving

Hi. After living in the Thonburi district of BKK for the past 15 years, my wife and daughter and I are planning a move to (hopefully) greener pastures. We had considered Chiang Mai but since the wife's parents still live in Thonburi we think it best to remain within driving distance.

My question concerns where to go. We would like to rent a house. We're self-employed so work and the associated travel isn't a factor. As I mentioned before, we'd like to stay close, preferably in a province bordering Bangkok. We've also considered Nakon Nayok. It's quiet, peaceful and the natural beauty is a big plus. However, my wife has relatives there and she says they'd be dropping by unannounced quite a bit (we can't stand surprise visits).

My sister-in-law has a townhouse in Rangsit. The sois are wide and clean and the community is gate protected. You would find many, many rental units available or for sale.

You want to stay close to relatives, but don't like them dropping by. Makes sense I guess.
