Pattaya readies new 5-year education master plan

PATTAYA:--Pattaya is preparing a new five-year education plan to set educational methods and standards to raise its schools to international standards.

A newly elected Pattaya Education Development Committee presented the plan to Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome at a meeting at the A-One Royal Cruise Hotel Aug. 22. It was then forwarded to the Pattaya City Council for consideration and development of a budget to request from Chonburi Province.

One year in the making by professors at Thammasat University, led by Associate Professor Pornthip Sampattavanija, Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication, the plan emphasizes use of technological and media knowledge over the next five years.

The master plan focuses on teaching processes as well as the learning processes of students following key points set by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization under its slogan of “Learning to do, learning to live together and learning to be”.
