Possible to enter Thailand on a visa exemption using a UK ETD?

Featured Replies

Evening all. I'm a UK citizen, and during a visa run to Japan I have managed to lose my passport. I assume a ninja picked my pocket or something. Anyway, I've already been here much longer than I wanted to be so I'd rather not spend two days in applying for a visa. Does anyone know for certain that I can get into Thailand on a visa exemption with an ETD? Thai consulate hre were no help. Many thanks!

As long as the ETD includes Thailand on it you can enter and get a visa exempt entry.

Magic, cheers, ubonjoe. How did you find that out, by the way? I've had no luck at all til now.

It is just something I have knowledge of. The only stipulation is that the ETD must be valid for 6 months.

Enter the required info here to confirm: http://www.staralliance.com/en/services/visa-and-health/

When I was issued my ETD all intended journeys had to be noted in the ETD and flight bookings etc shown to the Embassy in BKK.

Dates etc were typed into the ETD itself.

Any further journeys could be added later but again all travel details had to be supplied.
