Nigerian nationals guilty in drugs case

Featured Replies

Eight Nigerian nationals were found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison at Phnom Penh’s municipal court yesterday on charges of methamphetamine dealing.

General San Suthy, Deputy Chief of the Ministry of Interior’s Anti-Drug Police, said the men were arrested in the evening of October 26, 2014, in front of Golden Sorya Mall after trying to sell more than half a kilogram of meth to undercover police.

The convicted men were Me Johanudom, Favour Ibezi Mako Oberta, Samson Echowdo, Okechukwu Ikefu Aku, Thaddeus Ikechudwu Onyinechi, Oragwam Godwin Emeka, Michael Nwankwo and Ezigbo Gabriel Chukwueloka. Johanudom yesterday told Post Weekend he would appeal, adding that the drugs belonged to a Nigerian national who was not arrested.

ThaiVisa, c'est aussi en français

ThaiVisa, it's also in French

I would be surprised if the Judge could pronounce the perpetrators names during sentencing (without laughing out loud).

Must have been a tough case to follow.

Lucky it was only 10 years!! I suppose that 10 years in a Cambodian jail would seem like life though.

Yes it was lucky it was only 10 years.I think that it would've been substantially more had they been caught in Thailand, but as you rightly state it will seem like a life sentence.
