September 25, 201510 yr Is it true the gov't have opened, or plan to open, a nuclear power plant in Sattahip?
September 25, 201510 yr Thailand has no nuclear power stations. There was talk, merely talk, thank god. All you need to know here. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_power_stations_in_Thailand#Nuclear Cheers. Edited September 25, 201510 yr by stoneyboy
September 25, 201510 yr If a nuclear power plant comes to Thailand I am out and dragging my Thai family with me. Jesus!! I think they would struggle with wind turbines and solar power. They have already managed to mismanaged hydro power by not taking care and hold a festival that chucks millions of gallons of water away before the dry season. I wonder how next years Songkran festival will go? If the Thai people really cared or even have the brains to think beyond "the now", a private family Songkran at the grandparents house would still be OK. Not the 3-10 days of craziness that usually happens here in the LOS.
September 25, 201510 yr Better start packing then, there's a research power station running in Bangkok already for years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thailand_Institute_of_Nuclear_Technology
September 25, 201510 yr Fusion meets Mai Bpen Rai! Actually, with fusion, mai bpen rai woudn't be so disastrous. but we are still talking fission, fusion isn't ready yet.
September 25, 201510 yr Author Not a troll thanks, Bartender 100! I saw this on Reddit, and wondered what the hell it was about: https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalPowers/comments/3eycer/event_sattahip_nuclear_power_plants_first_reactor/ I did Google it, and I did have a look on Wikipedia, but I also found this: http://<URL Automatically Removed>/thailand-and-asia-news/16763-sattahip-naval-base-proposed-site-nuclear.html So all in all, it was a bit confusing, hence why I asked!!
September 26, 201510 yr Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology TINT..................although I think i could rearrange the vowel and consonants to read something more suitable

September 26, 201510 yr Neither opened or detail plans of course. What an outcry this will bring. Very vague discussions in the press how to fill the fast growing energy needs. With the "speed" which other mega projects are going (irrigation, railway) I am optimistic that I will not see this before my life span ends anyway.
September 26, 201510 yr Troll post, could easily find the info on Google, no nukes in Thailand I nuke my dinner everynight, so I find this comment unfounded.

Cowpat, that first link you have there is a fictional role playing game where people play the roles of various countries. The guy playing as Thailand in the game deciding to 'build' nuclear reactors.

There was talk a few years ago about building 900MW PWR station in Maptuput but it never went awaywhere, the only current power related projects planned are another 5 or 6 combined cycle power stations and to that end Bechtel has just been awarded the EPC for the gas supply land pipelines

You do know there is a reactor in BKK dont you and its been in opration for years, it not a commerical power reactor but a nuclear reactor non the less....so guess the question is ? When is your flight out ?
September 27, 201510 yr I believe Thailand may be on the leading edge of introducing the world's first conFUSION power plant.
