Hi ,can anyone give advice on obtaining a Thai Licence in CR

I have a uk and international permit , but also want a Thai one

My blue book is in my wifes name. Do i have to go to the Police station first to prove my residence before i go to CR immigration, and ultimately to the Driving School ?

Thanks

Thankyou vilageferang

You are welcome.

In the past getting a Thai License was very easy. I have heard that the new test is perhaps a bit more difficult but shouldn’t be a problem if you study first. Having a Thai License is very useful and is a convenient form of ID, even if it were not required for those of us who live here.

The link you gave me sent me into some other topic , but thanks anyway

It was supposed to take you to the motor forum and then you could check the Pinned Topics at the top of the page.

The best way is to have your wife telephone the office you will be attending to get your license. Get her to ask what documents are required and what you have to do.

If it's convenient for you, you can also drop into the DLT and they normally have a counter top card in Thai and English that advises of all documents required. To add, (my also having another country licence & IDP) when I gained my license, i was never required to carry out a road or written test, but did the reaction test and watched the video (which had me laughing). This was a few years ago and requirements my have varied.
